Stephanie Plasse is Vice President, Networks Business and Legal Affairs, at Home Box Office (HBO). Stephanie is responsible for analysis, strategy and structure of carriage deals with distributors for HBO and CINEMAX services on linear, video on demand and digital platforms. In this capacity, she plays a key role in negotiating and drafting distribution agreements. She has worked on the company’s initial distribution deals for HBO and CINEMAX digital services via HBO GO and MAX GO as well as affiliate portals with many of the company’s major multi-channel video programming distributors including Comcast, DISH and Time Warner Cable. Stephanie joined HBO as Senior Counsel in 2008 and has also worked on international distribution and technology deals during her time at the company.
After graduating from law school, Stephanie began her legal career as a corporate associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP. Prior to joining HBO, she was an associate in the entertainment and media practice in the New York office of Greenberg Traurig LLP.
Stephanie serves on the Board of Directors of the non-profit Oldest College Daily Foundation, an alumni foundation that supports the activities of the independent, student-run Yale Daily News. She is a member of WICT, the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and the entertainment committee of the New York City Bar.
Stephanie earned her B.A. at Yale College, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa magna cum laude and served as the editor-in-chief of the Yale Daily News. After college, she studied modern European history in Bonn, Germany as a Fulbright scholar. She earned her J.D. from Stanford Law School where she served as the President of the Stanford Law Review and won the Kirkland Moot Court Competition awards for Best Team and Best Brief. She lives in New York City with her twin sons.
