Samantha Callahan is the Vice President of Human Resources for Comcast’s Beltway Region, which supports cable field operations in the states of Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington, DC. Sam leads the regional Human Resources team in developing and implementing effective HR programs to accomplish the Region’s business goals. Her team’s responsibilities include directing the Region’s employee relations, employee communications, recruitment, performance management and succession planning initiatives.
Sam joined Comcast in 1998 as Human Resources Manager for the Alexandria, VA system. In 1999 she was promoted to Director of Human Resources for Comcast’s Regional Call Center in Silver Spring, MD, and in 2004 added responsibility for managing Human Resources in the Prince George’s County, MD system as well. In 2006 she was promoted to Vice President of Human Resources for Comcast’s Maryland/Delaware/Richmond Region.
Prior to joining Comcast, Sam had experience leading Human Resources functions in both the manufacturing and health care industries. She is a member of Women in Cable Telecommunications, the Society for Human Resource Management, and the Chesapeake Human Resource Association.
Sam holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business and an MBA from the University of Maryland, College Park. She is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), and is a graduate of the 2008 Comcast Executive Leadership Forum.
Sam lives in Laurel, Maryland, with her husband and two sons.
