Jennifer Sobel 

NBCUniversal Content Distribution

Jennifer Sobel serves as Vice President of Finance of NBCUniversal’s Content Distribution group.  In this role, Jen leads financial planning and analysis, accounts receivable management and controllership efforts related to the distribution of all of NBCU’s national cable networks, the network-owned NBC and Telemundo stations, and Olympic Games content on cable and broadband across the cable, satellite and telecommunications industry.  As NBCUniversal’s cable portfolio has grown, Jen has played a key role in the successful financial integrations of the Universal cable networks, Oxygen and most recently the Comcast programming networks.  In addition, she oversees financial matters for new media distribution outlets for NBCU TV and Film content across On Demand, Mobile and EST platforms.

Prior to her current role, Jen served as Vice President of Finance for the NBCUniversal’s New York City owned television stations, NBC’s WNBC and Telemundo’s WNJU, where she led the overall financial management of the stations and partnered with the leadership team on strategic planning and new programming opportunities.  Jen came to NBCUniversal in 1999 as Director of Financial Planning and Analysis at business news network CNBC.

Before joining the media industry, Jen started her career at NBCU’s corporate parent at the time, GE, as part of the company’s highly selective Financial Management Program.  At GE, she earned roles of increasing responsibility in the company’s energy and healthcare businesses.  During her time at GE Healthcare, she became a certified Six Sigma Blackbelt, applying the data-based quality approach to the implementation of the business’ implementation of a new global financial system.  She was also honored to be chosen to participate in GE’s two-year global Experienced Financial Leadership Program.

Jen earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Miami University, where she majored in economics.  She resides in River Vale, New Jersey with her husband and son.
