Karen Blackburn 

Bright House Networks

​Karen Blackburn is Vice President of Human Resources for Bright House Networks, the nation’s 6th largest MSO.  Karen provides Human Resources leadership for the entire Florida Operation.  Karen and her team provide HR functional expertise aimed at building leadership capability and an employee base whose skills, knowledge and performance meets current and future organizational needs.

 

Prior to joining Bright House Networks in October 2012, Karen held a leadership role at The Nielsen Company, where she was instrumental in driving HR strategic and operational initiatives aligned to support organization objectives.  In addition, Karen has held management or staff level roles in a variety of HR disciplines at Dun & Bradstreet Software, CBIS (now Convergys) and The Kroger Company.  She has supported both local and global teams, operated in mature and emerging businesses, and served as listener and advisor to senior executives and front line staff.

 

Karen graduated from The University of South Carolina, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.  She holds two professional certifications, including the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) and is a 2006 graduate of Leadership Pinellas.   Karen lives in Saint Petersburg and when not in the office, can be found boating across Tampa Bay.
