Jo Martin 

Senior Director of Events

​An event management professional with over 14 years’ experience, Joanna has worked in a variety of industries including corporate, publishing and associations. She most recently served as Manager, Meetings and Special Events at the National Retail Federation where she managed operations and logistics for citywide conventions as well as mid-sized meetings within the US. Prior to that she worked as a meeting planner for ExxonMobil Corporation.

Originally from the UK, much of Joanna’s professional experience was gained at Livegroup Plc, a communications agency, primarily delivering events for UK Government.

Joanna received her BA (Hons) in French and Psychology of Human Communication from De Montfort University, UK, in 1996. In 2013 she achieved her Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) Designation 

She is currently lives in Potomac, MD with her husband – where they spend their time renovating their historic home and running after their two children!
