April Fernandes is a Senior Manager of Business Operations in Comcast Cable's Systems Engineering group. She is responsible for Program Management and Governance of Key Initiatives within Product and Platform Services. In April's 9 years with Comcast, she and her team have successfully delivered a wide variety of projects and programs including infrastructure and operations performance management, IT Service Management ITIL process and tooling implementation, back office systems integration, infrastructure services and application migrations, and national data center device deployments.
Prior to Comcast. April work at Unisys Corporation for 7 years where she owned the offshore service desk managed service agreement for five sites globally. Her success in this role included driving operational improvements by establishing a global Service Desk Governance team that reengineered service desk processes creating a consolidated structured communication channel between IT, outsourcing vendor, global service desk, and global resolver groups.
A graduate of Penn State University, April earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and a Master of Science degree in Information Systems. She also attained Project Management Professional (PMP) and Scrum Master (CSM) certifications. April was selected to participate in Comcast's inaugural high-potential development Linked to Leadership (L2L) program in 2012.
April currently resides in Chester County Pennsylvania with her husband and two tweenage sons. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her family running, skiing, and gardening. She also volunteers with Team CMMD, a nonprofit charity committed to making a difference in the community and in the lives of those fighting cancer.
