Renita Griskel is the Director of Emerging Media Content at Scripps Networks Interactive (SNI). She leads a team of Interactive Media Specialists and is responsible for managing the production of online short form content for both the SNI brands and external partners. She also creates targeted content for SNI apps and network social media sites.
Renita's contributions to multiplatform brand campaigns support SNI initiatives and the digital and social media teams. In her 10 years with SNI, Renita has also led production for Video On Demand and In Store Programming content. Videos produced under Renita's supervision were distributed to various leading big box retail stores and service outlets nationwide.
Prior to joining SNI in 2006, Renita was an Executive Producer (EP) at WEWS, a broadcast station in her hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. She was promoted multiple times, holding positions while at WEWS including Production Assistant, Newsroom Assignment Desk Assistant and News Producer before becoming an EP. She has written and produced several long form non-news shows, and has more than 20 years of experience in the broadcast industry.
Renita enjoys volunteering and mentoring, she participates in the SNI Mentoring Experience and in several Women in Cable & Telecommunications (WICT) mentoring programs. She is an active member in industry and community organizations including WICT where she serves in the award-winning Southeast Chapter as the 2017 Director of Programming for Knoxville, National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC), National Association of Black Journalist (NABJ), and National Coalition of 100 Black Women (NCBW).
Renita has B.A. in Communications from John Carroll University. She lives in Knoxville, Tennessee with her two canine babies.
