Alicia C.L. Bailey

Alicia C.L. Bailey is a Writer/Producer for Scripps Networks Interactive’s Home Category brands, HGTV and DIY Network. In her current role, Bailey conceptualizes and produces On-Air Creative for HGTV and DIY Network series, including launch campaigns, stunt week promotion and topicals. In addition, she develops content for experiential, interactive and social media outlets.

Combining her passion for entertainment and interior design, some of Bailey’s notable work includes popular series House Hunters, Love It or List It, Buying & Selling, HGTV Star, Property Virgins, Yard Crashers, Desperate Landscapes and Yardcore. She has also led the charge on various promotional efforts for HGTV experiential events such as Junk Gypsies at Round Top, Texas, White Room Challenge at the Affordable Art Fair in New York, and the HGTV Lodge at the CMA Fan Festival. Her social media efforts also consist of spots for HGTVGardens.com and the 2012 House Hunters International Digital Passport Sweepstakes. Other content marketing projects also include creating spots and reels for HGTV’s programming and licensing and merchandising teams for Sherwin Williams and HGTV HOME.  

Prior to joining SNI in 2011, Bailey spent 10 years at The Oprah Winfrey Show. Beginning her career at the highest-rated nationally syndicated daytime television show at the age of 21 in Production Management, Bailey transitioned into Creative producing daily topical promotion and campaigns including Oprah’s 25th Season Two-Part Farewell Spectacular. During her tenure, she received a Silver Telly Award for “Life-Saving Lessons From Families Like Yours” (2009) and a Bronze Telly Award for “An Overwhelmed Mom’s Deadly Mistake” (2010).

Bailey is an active member of Women in Cable Telecommunications and has held membership with the National Association of Black Journalists. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications with an emphasis in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  Bailey currently resides in Knoxville, Tenn., and in her spare time, loves decorating luxurious spaces on a budget and delving into design inspiration.
