Allison Cantor

Allison Cantor joined ESPN, Inc. as Assistant Counsel in 2011, and is now Associate Principal Counsel.  Allison serves as ESPN’s trademark counsel and handles legal matters for Disney and ESPN Media Networks Affiliate Sales and Marketing, ESPN The Magazine, ESPN Consumer Products and espnW.  Her current responsibilities include, protecting ESPN’s intellectual property portfolio on a worldwide basis, maintaining several high profile affiliation accounts on behalf of ESPN, and drafting and negotiating contracts, including license and service agreements, for the business units she represents.

Allison received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Connecticut where she served as team manager for the UConn Women’s Basketball team, which won three NCAA championships during her tenure.  She began her career at ESPN in 2004 as an Associate Contract Administrator for Disney and ESPN Media Networks Affiliate Sales and Marketing, where she served as liaison between the sales, operations, accounting and legal teams and provided customer service to numerous affiliates.  Allison left ESPN in 2007 to pursue her legal career and received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 2010.  At UConn Law, Allison served as President of the Arts, Entertainment and Sports Law Society, Alumni Affairs Editor for the Connecticut Law Review, participated in the Intellectual Property Clinic and earned a certificate in Intellectual Property law.  Prior to joining the ESPN legal team, Allison was an Associate at the Hartford, CT office of Day Pitney, LLP in the Corporate and Intellectual Property practice areas. 

Allison resides in Glastonbury, CT and is a member of the New England chapter of WICT and the Connecticut Bar Association, where she serves on the Executive Committee for the Intellectual Property Section.  She volunteers for the Special Olympics SOAR Program and enjoys cheering for the New York Giants and the UConn basketball teams.
