Angela Santone is EVP & Global Chief Human Resources Officer for Turner. As such, Santone has executive oversight of all human resources functions, including recruitment, total rewards, training & development, performance management, inclusion strategy and succession planning for its networks and businesses. Additionally, she provides executive oversight for corporate responsibility. Santone is based in Atlanta and reports to John Martin, chairman and chief executive officer of Turner.
Previously, Santone was senior vice president, human resources for Turner. As a strategic HR partner to executives, she implemented business initiatives and leadership and organizational strategies throughout Turner’s corporate division. She also led HR strategy for finance and accounting, properties, security, legal, communications, research, media planning, human resources, sports, distribution and advertising sales and technology and operations.
Since she joined Turner in 2001, Santone has held a succession of roles within the HR organization leading HR functions for entertainment groups, Turner Network Sales, program acquisitions and corporate groups, including finance and accounting, research and public relations. Earlier, Santone was the education/documentation manager and HR generalist for S2 Systems, Inc.
Santone is a peer-to-peer mentor for the Southeast Chapter of Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT). She has served as a mentor for WICT’s Agnes Scott mentoring program and as an executive mentor for the Turner Women Today mentoring program. She is a board member for the Emma L. Bowen Foundation for Minority Interests in Media and Atlanta Jumpstart for Young Children and a member of the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s Hope’s Circle group. She is a 2010 graduate of the Pathbuilders Achieva class and is a Class XXII fellow for WICT’s Betsy Magness Leadership Institute.
Santone earned an undergraduate degree from Florida State University and a master’s degree in counseling from Troy University. She is a certified facilitator for the Benchmark 360 assessment by the Center for Creative Leadership and is a qualified facilitator for the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI).
