Angie Simmons is senior vice president of network operations for Turner Entertainment System, Inc. In this capacity, she oversees all strategic planning activities and all technical, operational, administrative and financial efforts undertaken by Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.’s Network Operations division. Leads a 450+ person unit with delivery of 25 domestic and international networks. Network Operations supports the domestic entertainment networks TBS, WTBS-17, TNT, Cartoon Network, Turner Classic Movies, Turner South and Boomerang, as well as international versions of these networks. Simmons is based in Atlanta at Turner Broadcasting headquarters and reports to Scott Teissler, Chief Technology Officer and CIO. Network Operations is comprised of broadcast operations, media operations, library services, log management and sales operations. Simmons played a key executive role in planning and executing the 2003 migration to the new Network Operations facility on Turner Broadcasting’s Atlanta Techwood campus. Since joining the company in 1995, she has held senior Information Technology (IT) posts in human resources, finance, cable distribution and sales, ad sales and, most recently, entertainment networks, where she created and implemented a business systems development unit with cross-divisional applications and infrastructure. Earlier in her career, Simmons was with Acuity Brands Lithonia Lighting, at that time the largest manufacturer of lighting in North America. There she was responsible for the development and integration of operating systems across the company’s portfolio. Simmons is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science degree in business and computer education. She serves on the board of directors of MUST, a non-profit support network for impoverished individuals and families in Cobb County and Cherokee County, Georgia. She is also a member of Women in Cable and Telecommunications (WICT).
