April Carty-Sipp is Senior Vice President of Creative Services for the regional division of NBC Sports Agency, Comcast Sports Group, which consists of 14 sports and entertainment networks in over 50 million U.S. cable and satellite homes. The networks include: SportsNet New York (SNY), The Mtn. – Mountain West Sports Network, CSS, NECN (the nation’s largest regional news network) as well as Comcast SportsNet branded networks in seven of the top ten markets. Each network produces eleven hours of local regional programming daily and collectively over 2,500 live sporting events a year.
As the head of creative, April is responsible for the look and feel of the networks including network presentation, graphic design, on-air promotions and music. In addition, she supervises set designs, construction and lighting. She hires, trains and supervises both internal staff and external agencies. April has been in my current role for three years and has been with the company since 2000.
Previously, she served as a Senior Programming/Promotions Producer for the WPSG-TV, part of Paramount Stations Group. She produced and edited priority projects and campaigns for movies, sports, sitcoms and other station programming. In addition, she oversaw several marketing projects including: print advertisements, radio spots, press releases, media communication, sales presentation tapes, website and other related duties. Her first field related job was working for the Philadelphia Phillies at Veterans Stadium. She produced and operated video for in-arena game production including slow motion replays for the Phillies and the Philadelphia Eagles.
April is an accomplished professional with more than 17 years of experience in creative marketing and television production. She has served in various roles of increasing responsibility at each position. April has been honored with several awards including six Mid-Atlantic Emmy Awards for such varied categories as best promotional announcement, best promotional campaign, graphic design, music composition and individual achievement in writing. She is also a winner of the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters Award as well as a Philly Gold Winner from the Philly Ad Club.
April is a graduate of Rowan University, with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications specializing in Radio/TV/Film and was a member of the Senior Honors Society. She currently serves on the Executive Board of the Rowan University Alumni Association. She lives in Collingswood, NJ with her husband Greg Sipp and their two daughters.
