Asha Thoyakat is Director of Engineering for Charter Communications. In this role, her primary responsibilities include managing the functional and automated testing for Spectrum Guide, Video on Demand and Dynamic Ad Insertion programs. These programs directly impact Charter’s 16.5million video subscribers and contribute significantly to Charter’s revenue.She leads a team of around 50 resources responsible for requirement validation, design/planning, automation development, test execution, defect triage and reporting. Apart from this Asha also works on architecture, RFPs, executive presentations, budgeting & forecasting and hiring/talent management for her programs.
Asha has over 12 years’ experience in telecom domain with companies in North America, Europe and Australia. Prior to Charter she was Senior Manager at Dish Network responsible for VOD and DAI content delivery on STBs (Dish Network, Bell Canada) and IP platforms including Sling TV. Asha has worked on voice and internet provisioning/service assurance/billing at Comcast cable and British Telecom (UK). She had worked in brief consulting roles with Telstra (Australia) and Belgacom (Belgium).
Asha graduated from Mahatma Gandhi University, India with a Bachelors in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. She is currently pursuing her MBA from University of Colorado. She lives in Highlands Ranch, Colorado with her husband and daughter.
