Becky Henderson

Becky Henderson is the visionary architect behind Halogen TV, the emerging television network and digital media company that entertains and motivates individuals looking to be the change they want to see in the world.

Henderson grew up as a citizen of the world, traveling the globe with her family on humanitarian missions. Profoundly motivated by her experiences, she resolved to make a positive difference in people’s lives.

During her high school and college years, Henderson interned in every department of Inspiration Networks, learning the cable television business from the ground up. After studying at the University of North Carolina and Oral Roberts University, she moved back to the Charlotte area and secured a position as an assistant producer of short-form content at Inspiration Networks.  After being promoted to producer, Henderson launched a show called “Everyday Woman,” where she became executive producer and on-camera host.  The show won three regional Emmys, and soon expanded into Everyday Woman Magazine, where Henderson also served as Editor-in-Chief.

Henderson’s promotion inspired her to explore the role that media has played to shape society, both positively and negatively.  Intent on using media as a force for good, she conducted a three year research project that revealed how best to creatively capture the attention of audiences, and encourage them to make a difference.  She focused her researched on the underserved millennial generation audience, and saw an opportunity to introduce them to a new type of reality television content. Henderson then produced several pilots, and wrote a brand guide to introduce the concept of Halogen TV to her company.

After presenting the Halogen TV brand to the Inspiration Networks Executive Committee, Henderson received approval to launch the new multiplatform network, and was named Executive Vice President and General Manager of Halogen TV in 2008.  Halogen TV currently has over 14 million subscribers, and is securing additional viewers through online and video on demand.

Henderson was named to Multichannel News’ roster of “40 under 40” for 2011 and has been accepted into the Women In Cable Telecommunications Rising Leader Program. She is a member of the Cable Television Association for Marketing, PromaxBDA, American Women in Media, and the National Cable and Telecommunications Association. Henderson lives in Charlotte, North Carolina with her husband and two children, and loves visiting Disney World whenever she gets a chance.
