Beth Hess is an Executive Director of National Procurement at Comcast. In this position she acts as liaison between Headquarters and the field, providing oversight and management of the procurement operations. Beth negotiates deals for traditional CATV and other commodity materials and services. Beth launched the company’s first web based reverse auction tool used to strategically reduce costs, as well as the companies first company wide web based paperless procurement requisition and project approval process.
In her previous roles as Regional Operations Manager and Project/Upgrade Control Manager, Beth was responsible for the development and over sight of budget, inventory management, procurement and project control for a number of Comcast’s major plant upgrades. Additionally, Beth started the company’s initial supplier diversity program.
Beth has over 25 years experience in the CATV industry, and holds a bachelors degree in Business. She earned Purchasing Management Certification thru ISM in 1988, and became Recertified 1993. Beth has recently been selected to the Betsy Magness Leadership Institute, a magnate leadership program for Women in Cable Telecommunications, and a past member of the Society of Cable Television Engineers.
