Bonna Tanaka is currently Senior Project Manager for Time Warner Cable’s (TWC) Corporate Network Operations and Planning team based in Herndon, VA. In her current role, Bonna manages corporate initiatives spanning multiple business units to ensure successful planning, development, implementation and deployment of the company’s networking and engineering operation projects. Prior to this current role, Bonna managed complex reporting and data collection projects, built KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and presented dashboards and strategic reports to key executives and the Technical Operations Reporting team at TWC.
Bonna’s career in the cable industry began 19 years ago with a college internship at Adelphia Communications, which lead to a marketing position. Wanting to experience another sector of the cable industry Bonna moved to Denver, Colorado and directed brand marketing and affiliate sales strategies for INDemand and STARZ/Encore Media. After more than 9 years of conquering Colorado’s black diamond slopes and winning two CTAM Mark Awards for excellence in marketing campaigns, Bonna moved back to her native Pennsylvania and secured key positions with the Technical Operations and High-Speed Data Marketing teams at Adelphia Communications in Coudersport, PA, where she also managed the company’s web portal for High-Speed Internet customers.
Bonna holds a B.A. from The Pennsylvania State University in Broadcasting & Cable Communications, and has been active in WICT with Rocky Mountain and Washington DC/Baltimore chapters for over 15 years.
Active in the cable industry as well as her community, Bonna sits on the board of directors for the S.W. Smith Public Library and her church. She leads several community initiatives including a 5k Walk/Run and events to promote small businesses in her area. She currently resides in Northern Pennsylvania with her husband and two children, and plans to earn her Black Belt in Taekwondo within the next year.
