Carol Ann Sweeney is Senior Manager of Business Operations at CommScope in the Global Procurement organization. Carol Ann has been at CommScope for over 7 years. She began her tenure working in the Global Services organization. In this role, she was responsible for maintaining partner relationships with 3rd party partners and working with internal teams to determine requirements so they can be effectively communicated. In subsequent positions, Carol Ann has gained experience in the integration and synergy efforts of acquiring Ruckus and now the integration of ARRIS and CommScope. She managed the Contingent Workforce vendor selection and implementation, along with being a Subject Matter Expert in the upgrade to the ERP system. In her current role, she has responsibility for Compliance, Procurement Systems, and Process and Program Management. Carol Ann was selected to be a member of the Leadership Council for the Diversity and Inclusion Business Network at CommScope. Previous to this, Carol Ann worked at Comcast Cable Communications for 8 years, most recently as Senior Manager, Procurement. In this role, she worked with Comcast’s partners, negotiating the most optimal terms & conditions, and pricing for Comcast.
Carol Ann has participated in several leadership programs including the WICT Rising Leaders Program in 2011 and Half the Sky in 2016. She was honored with the Inspire Award in 2017 at WICT Philly Gives Back, WICT Greater Philadelphia’s annual charity and awards recognition event.
Carol Ann has been an active member of WICT for over 10 years. She has worked in various capacities on the board including WICT Philly Gives Back Director, Programming Chair, launching the Scholarship program and is currently serving President. She also assists at Chapter events and has participated as a Mentee and Mentor in the Mentoring Program. The networking and relationships that she has forged from being part of this program are invaluable. She especially enjoys the annual Fall fundraiser when WICT has an opportunity to give back to a local charity.
Carol Ann earned her Bachelor of Science degree from The Pennsylvania State University. She resides in Pennsylvania with her husband and 3 children. Carol Ann is active in the community and regularly volunteers at her children’s schools and sporting events, including being a Cheer Mom, which involves coordination of events, fundraising, and charitable endeavors.
