Carolina Atwood is currently a Manager of Programming & Acquisitions for ESPN International, a division of ESPN Inc. She manages programming content deals for the ESPN International media platforms, particularly soccer properties and Latin America in-market acquisitions. Carolina administers the acquisition process from initial proposal through the negotiation to its execution and scheduling. She works closely with several departments in developing and supporting content and scheduling strategies across ESPN International networks. Additionally, Carolina plays a key role as the centralized point of information for all of the acquisitions done throughout regional offices in Latin America, with a focus on the Brazilian market. Carolina also oversees the program planning of the ESPN networks in Brazil.
Prior to recently joining the Acquisitions team, Carolina was the Manager of Programming, Brazil networks. In this role, she managed initiatives and drove results across a 300+ employee operation overseas. She assembled and maintained two ESPN television networks programming schedules, maximizing viewership, AD Sales and ESPN’s value to affiliates while making sure several departments in Brazil followed her lead. One of her greatest achievements was contributing to the successful launch of the first HD sports network in Latin America.
A native from Brazil, Carolina moved to the United States in 2004. She joined ESPN after earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from the University of Connecticut in 2006. Carolina also serves as the Co-leader of an Employee Resource Group at ESPN called ESPN Women, whose mission is to recruit, retain, develop and inspire female employees.
