Carrie Bocian is Senior Director of Programming at Time Warner Cable since 2008. In this role, she is responsible for negotiating multi-million dollar programming deals, including content for multiple platforms, with programming conglomerates and independent content providers. She also evaluates programming networks’ and Video On Demand producers’ content offerings and value propositions for the company’s video product, and manages relationships with sales executives and negotiators of programming networks.
Prior, as Director of Programming, Ms. Bocian managed programming negotiations and video programming relationships for several of Time Warner Cable’s operational territories and assisted the territories with digital upgrades, new packaging and channel lineup realignments. She also analyzed new programming opportunities and new content business models.
Ms. Bocian joined Time Warner Cable in 2000 as a paralegal in the Programming department and was promoted to Contracts Manager and Senior Manager before being named Director in 2007. Before coming to Time Warner Cable, Ms. Bocian worked in marketing retail services in Connecticut and was a paralegal at a Washington, D.C., law firm.
Ms. Bocian received her bachelor’s in English Literature from William Smith College, Geneva, in upstate N.Y. and was a recipient of the Hobart and William Smith Scholarship and Starr Scholarship. She chairs Time Warner Cable’s Corporate Women’s Network, and is an active participant in Women in Cable Telecommunications’ (WICT) National and New York chapters.
