Christie Dockman began her career at ESPN after landing her first position as an Assignment Editor for Studio Production only a week after learning about the job opening. Nineteen years later, she now co-leads the Management Operations department.
In her current role, Christie is responsible for the League Sports division of Production Management. That team plans and executes logistics for thousands of live events and studio shows which are televised across various ESPN platforms each year. In addition, Christie also oversees the Scheduling Team for Studio Production, International Production, ESPN Audio, SIG, Graphics and Global Digital Media.
Outside of her management responsibilities, Christie has been involved with several large-scale international remote soccer events for ESPN. In the fall of 2009, Christie was recruited to work on ESPN’s coverage of the FIFA World Cup South Africa 2010. She brought her logistical and financial expertise to the complex project and led her team through all aspects of planning and on-site logistical execution of the award-winning event for ESPN. Christie continued her role as part of ESPN’s leadership team working on major international soccer tournaments the following three summers including the FIFA Women’s World Cup Germany 2011, the UEFA European Football Championship 2012 and the FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014 – ESPN’s most successful and most-watched FIFA World Cup.
Christie graduated from Penn State University with a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast/Cable Communications in 1993. She also holds a Certificate in British Media/Mass Communications from the University of Manchester in England where she studied abroad for her last semester of college. Christie lives with her husband Bill and three daughters in Burlington, CT where she enjoys watching her very athletic children play soccer, basketball and lacrosse.
