Christin McMeley

Christin McMeley plays a diverse and increasingly important role in Charter’s myriad legal affairs.  In her role as the Deputy General Counsel, she is the principal assistant to the head of the Corporate Legal Department and is responsible for the administrative and legal affairs of the corporation that are delegated by the overseeing General Counsel.  She supports the General Counsel in the development of the overall legal strategy of the organization and assists in its implementation.  Christin provides leadership and direction to a staff of professionals, paraprofessionals and support staff, as well as maintains close working relationships with outside counsel; providing them direction and oversight on important issues or transactions. 
 
Among her responsibilities as Chief Privacy Officer are compliance with all federal and state privacy and security requirements, including those related to customer and employee information. She also oversees responses to federal, state and local law enforcement inquiries and requests; vendor access to customer and employee information; and compliance with telemarketing and e-mail regulations.
 
In addition, Christin serves as the Chief Compliance Officer, ensuring the Company’s compliance with legal, ethical and related obligations.  To help ensure proper management and retention of Charter’s business information, Christin directs the implementation of and compliance with the company’s Records and Information Management program.
 
Prior to joining Charter in 2004, Christin was an associate at Cole, Raywid & Braverman, L.L.P. in Washington, D.C. (now Davis Wright Tremaine LLP), which she joined in 1998. While serving in this position, she represented communications entities in complex litigation before federal and state courts, and represented communications clients before the FCC.  
 
Christin received a B.A. in English with a minor in Psychology in 1992 from Southwest Missouri State University. In 1995, she earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Tulsa (Okla.) College of Law.
 
Christin is a member of the District of Columbia Bar Association, Missouri Bar Association, International Association of Privacy Professionals, and Women in Cable and Telecommunications, where she served as President of the Midwest Chapter in 2008. 
 
She resides in Kirkwood, Missouri, with her husband and two sons.
