Christine Olson

Christine Olson is Vice President of Advertising Sales at A+E Networks®.  In this role, Olson develops strategic account strategies and tactics to maximize revenue for A+E Networks, including A&E® Network, HISTORY®, Lifetime®, LMN®, FYI™ and VICELAND™.  Olson oversees program sponsorships and customized brand solutions across both linear & digital properties, and is responsible for cultivating key agency and client relationships.  In addition, Olson leads several cross-platform agency upfront negotiations across all the A+E Networks brands.

 

In January 2016, Olson was selected to be part of the A+E Networks 2020 Leadership Team, a group designed to work cross-functionally and help both the CEO and the management team identify underlying operational challenges, champion change and recommend new areas of growth at the company.

 

Prior to joining A+E Networks, Olson worked on the media agency side of the business for 20 years at A. Eicoff, BBDO and most recently, Starcom USA. At Starcom, she served as Senior Vice President and Activation Director. Olson was responsible for the agency’s cable investment across all clients. Olson worked closely with marketers to execute strategic plans and make investments across a broad range of cable inventory including video on demand and digital offerings. During her tenure she established herself as an authority on cable investments across the national market.  In addition, she was the lead investment director on the agency’s Walgreens & Bank of America accounts. In these roles, Olson contributed to a number of innovative deals that drove accountability in support of her clients. In 2009, Olson was named to the CableFAX Sweet 16 list, which honors leading media buyers who champion cable advertising.

 

Olson was a founding member of ACT-the cable and broadcast team’s internal charity at Starcom. She helped raise over $200,000 to benefit a number of local Chicago charities.  Also, Olson currently sits on the Pulliam Center for Contemporary Media (PCCM) Advisory Board at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana (her alma mater). As part of the board, she advises the University on how to best prepare students for future careers in media – from infrastructure to curriculum to networking. She is a member of She Runs It, formally known as AWNY.

 

Olson was born in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, grew up in Deerfield, Illinois and currently resides in New York City.
