Cindy Brown serves as director of program planning for Scripps Networks Interactive’s Home category brands, HGTV and DIY Network. In this role, she oversees the planning and development of the category program scheduling strategy, as well as its budget and asset management, to ensure optimal results and performance of the brands.
Brown began her tenure at Scripps in 1997 as an administrative assistant for Scripps Productions. Soon thereafter, her role expanded to include work with the company’s IT group developing and implementing an improved programming and scheduling database for DIY Network. Brown ascended to scheduling supervisor for DIY Network, then scheduling manager, where she was integral in the development of new systems and procedures for tracking programming initiatives, as well as the management of the generic grid and weekly programming schedules. Brown has been in her current director role since 2010.
Born and raised in Northern California, Cindy has since lived in Ballston Spa, N.Y. and now resides in Knoxville, Tenn. She enjoys exercising, reading, watching TV, going to the movies and spending quality time with family and her dog, Petey.
