As vice president, Domestic Distribution, Elisa Freeman is responsible for the negotiation and compliance of multi-year carriage agreements with key distributors for 17 Discovery networks in the U.S., as well as numerous alternative technology carriers. She also leads BBC World distribution in the U.S. and the negotiation of deals with key Canadian distribution partners for carriage of TLC and Military Channel. Freeman joined Discovery in 1999 as an account manager for alternative technologies, and was promoted to director prior to being appointed to her current position as vice president in 2001. Previously, Freeman was a consultant for American Express in New York, NY, where she strengthened and established new relationships with Fortune 500 clients by providing quality service and effective problem resolution. Freeman’s previous positions include director of regulatory affairs for Oncor Communications, Inc. in Bethesda, MD and manager of association services for Association Management Bureau in Washington, D.C. Freeman holds a Juris Doctor from American University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA.
