Elizabeth Casanas is Vice President of Human Resources for Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.’s (TBS Inc.) domestic ad sales division. In this capacity, she is responsible for leading all ad sales HR initiatives, including employee relations, talent management and organizational design. She is based in New York City and reports to Angela Santone, Senior Vice President, Human Resources.
Casanas joined Turner in 2005 as Executive Director of Human Resources for domestic ad sales and sports production, and later assumed responsibility for TruTV. In this role, she was responsible for implementing all HR initiatives spanning these three client groups. She was instrumental in the company’s acquisition of Court TV (now TruTV), earning a promotion to vice president later that year.
Before joining TBS, Inc., Casanas was Senior Director of Human Resources for the Walt Disney Company, serving as a generalist supporting its Consumer Products division and ABC Network News global division. Her media industry career also includes serving in human resources for Bertlesmann’s Random House Publishing. And she’s held HR roles with kozmo.com, Ernst & Young and American Practice Management Consultants.
Casanas earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Hunter College, City University of New York. She is a National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications’ Executive Leadership Development Program graduate, and is a certified Benchmarks 360 instrument facilitator through the Center for Creative Leadership.
