Ellen Schned

Ellen Schned is President of EJS Media where she represents clients on Distribution, Government Affairs, Public Relations and Marketing. She specializes in representing independent networks, which have included RIDE TV (equestrian), Dog TV (the only network for dogs), Ovation (arts) and GINX TV (video games), among others.

Ellen grew up in California, attending UCLA and Hastings College of the Law. She started her career as an attorney at the FCC, first in the Mass Media Bureau, where she worked on the Howard Stern Indecency cases among others, then the Office of Legislative Affairs. She then went to Viacom in DC, as their VP of Government Affairs lobbying Congress, the FCC and Administration. Next, she ventured to NYC to work for Court TV, then CBS College Sports, heading up National Accounts and affiliate marketing. She created award winning public affairs and local ad sales campaigns.

Ellen returned to California to head up Distribution for Ovation and assist on strategy and government relations. After that, she set up her own successful business, EJS Media, where she continues to be one of the leading reps for independent channels.

Ellen has been active in WICT her whole career, serving on the Board of the New York Chapter and currently, she is President of the SoCal Chapter. Ellen was a WICT Betsy Magness Fellow, named Wonder Woman of Cable by Multichannel News and one of the Most Powerful Women in Cable by Cablefax.
