Genevieve Gorder

HGTV Design Star judge Genevieve Gorder’s unmistakable style and enthusiasm have made her one of America’s favorite interior designers. Finding inspiration and beauty in everyday life, Genevieve applies her soulful and whimsical style to transform the interiors of homes around the world and on her HGTV series, Dear Genevieve.

After graduating from the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, Genevieve traveled the world to do freelance work for design studios in Amsterdam and Barcelona. She also worked for the award-winning Duffy Design studio in New York City. Genevieve believes that “designing a room comes down to finding out what gives you joy, and I’m there to help make yours visible.”

Genevieve’s work has been featured in many major publications and she has appeared numerous times on Oprah, The View, Today and CNN. In addition, she writes a monthly column for Parents, where she provides answers to readers’ design dilemmas. She also has been recognized for her design and television work, including multiple awards for interiors, products and branding, as well as accolades for her contributions on an Emmy-nominated design series.

At home, Genevieve runs her own design company, gg studios. In 2009, she shared her style with America when she launched a line of bedding for QVC with Springmaid. Currently she and her team are creating a line of rugs and decor for beds, baths and tabletops.
A native of Minneapolis, Genevieve resides in Manhattan with her husband and daughter.
