Gwynne McConkey

Gwynne McConkey was named Senior Vice President, Operations, Information Systems & Technology, in June 2002.  
 
In this role, McConkey is responsible for all technical operations and information technology for Lifetime Networks.   Ms. McConkey oversees broadcast operations, post-production, engineering and media management, as well as enterprise computing, computing infrastructure and business applications including technical development for Lifetime’s consumer and business websites.

Recently, McConkey oversaw the development and construction of Lifetime’s new Technical Operations Center at 111 8th Avenue.    This innovative facility employs groundbreaking digital media systems, merging broadcast and IT technologies to create a virtually tapeless
“delivery to air” workflow for all Lifetime’s linear networks; Lifetime, LMN and Lifetime Real Women as well as broadband programming in development for Lifetime’s web properties; Lifetimetv.com and LMN.com.

Prior to her promotion to Senior Vice President, Operations, Information Systems & Technology, McConkey served as Senior Vice President, Network Operations and Engineering.  In this role, McConkey was responsible for all technical operations and media management for all three networks and was a critical member of the launch team for Lifetime Real Women.  She oversaw Lifetime’s graphics, production and post-production facilities and Lifetime Studios, the commercial studio venture.  In addition, McConkey was involved in the strategic team evaluating new business initiatives, such as interactive TV and video-on-demand (VOD).

While Vice President, Network Operations and Engineering, McConkey led the transformation of Lifetime’s analog facility into a digital structure.  She was also integral to the launch of the Lifetime Movie Network in 1998.

McConkey has been with Lifetime since its inception in 1984, when she began as a film tape supervisor.  She held this same position at Cable Health Network, the forerunner to Lifetime.  Before that, she was post production supervisor at Magno Sound and Video.  She has also held many technical production jobs with off-Broadway theaters in New York. 

McConkey attended the State University of New York at Albany, where she studied theater.  She and her husband Michael have two daughters and reside in Leonia, NJ.
