Holly Wasson is Vice President of Asset Management for the Turner Media Group, a division of Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. Holly created and leads a team that is charged with offering Turner’s chief marketing officers a 360° view of the company’s internal marketing assets, audiences and marketing goals. The group identifies multi-brand, synergistic partnerships, allowing Turner marketing teams to efficiently leverage internal resources to extend off-channel media campaigns. Holly is also responsible for developing Turner-wide promotional partnerships with brand partners (like Walmart, Best Buy and Great Clips) that drive sampling, reach and awareness for Turner programming. The Insights & Inspiration branch of Holly’s team is charged with identifying actionable media trends to bolster strategic thinking and marketing campaign innovation.
Over the past 14 years, Holly has held various marketing and research roles at Turner. As Senior Director of Marketing for Turner Entertainment Networks, Holly oversaw marketing strategy for original and acquired programming for TBS, TNT and Turner Classic Movies (TCM), such as TNT’s The Closer and TCM’s 31 Days of Oscar. Holly oversaw the allocation of more than $1 billion in on-air assets. She also led the consumer insights task force, a marketing, research, branding, digital, media, creative and on-air team that identified consumer trends and insights. Prior to that position, Holly held various roles within TNT and TBS’s marketing group. Before joining TNT marketing in 1999, Holly was a research assistant for CNN.
Holly has been involved with Women in Cable and Telecommunications (WICT) since 2001 and, in 2008, received the organization’s executive development seminar scholarship. She has been an active mentor. Holly has spoken about work/life balance at the University of Georgia Terry College of Business Professional Women’s Conference and about marketing at the Georgia Governor’s Protégé Program. She has been involved on the Journey MAP Board of Directors for Turner Women Today and as a mentor for Turner Entertainment Networks’ Mentoring Program.
Holly holds a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Georgia. She lives in Atlanta with her husband, Derek, and two young children, Laney and Ian.
