Jacqui Vines

Jacqui Vines has been on the fast track since she was a young woman. She was born and raised in Norwalk, Connecticut, but during high school, she moved to Fairfield to attend Andrew Ward High School where she became an outstanding basketball player. Declining a basketball scholarship to the University of Connecticut, Jacqui instead chose to move to New Haven to attend the Stone School of Business. Upon graduation, Jacqui’s business career began when she accepted a position with Time Warner Cable in Columbus, Ohio in 1984. Over an eight-year period, Jacqui worked her way up in the company from receptionist to the Director of Human Resources. In 1992, Jacqui was recruited to join Cox Communications in New Orleans as Director of Human Resources. After three years, Jacqui continued her career with Cox by accepting the position of Vice President of Human Resources for Cox’s San Diego operation where she was responsible for approximately 2,100 employees and more than 1 million customers. In addition to her Human Resources obligations in San Diego, she also managed an operation of 120,000 customers in North County, California. During her stay in California, Jacqui completed her five-university, 22-year pursuit of a B.S. degree in business administration and management from the University of Redlands. Jacqui returned to Louisiana in March of 2000 as Vice President and General Manager for Cox Communications in Baton Rouge. She is responsible for all operations of Cox’s Baton Rouge system, with approximately 600 employees serving more than 180,000 customers in a seven parish area (East Baton Rouge, West Baton Rouge, Iberville, Ascension, Livingston, St. James and East Feliciana).
