Jane Rice is Senior Vice President of Distribution, at A+E Networks. Based in New York, she oversees Affiliate Sales, both domestically and in Canada, for A+E Network’s portfolio of services, including A&E, History and Lifetime.
Before joining A+E Networks, Rice was Vice President, Field Sales, Disney and ESPN Media Networks for six years. In this capacity, she developed sales strategies for the company’s portfolio of products and services in the United States and managed the distribution efforts for all related new media content, including HD, broadband, video-on-demand, interactive television, pay-per-view and sports syndication.
Prior to her tenure at The Walt Disney Company, Rice was Director of Affiliate Sales and Marketing, for the Paul Allen-owned company TechTV (formerly ZDTV). At TechTV, she executed cable agreements for MSOs, regional systems and independent cable companies across a 23-state region. She joined ZDTV in 1997 as Regional Manager of Affiliate Sales and Marketing.
Rice spent five years with Time Warner Cable as a consultant with the Digital Marketing Group and as an Associate Producer with Catalog 1 Productions, a Time Warner/Spiegel venture.
Rice is a graduate of University College London, England, where she earned a LL.B. degree in law. She is a graduate of the Betsy Magness Leadership Institute, Class XXIII and she sits on the WICT National Board of Directors. Rice was named one of Ireland’s Most Influential Women by the Irish Voice in 2011.
