Jennifer DeVault

Jennifer DeVault is a Supervising Producer at CMT.  She is primarily responsible for the gathering and production of content for CMT’s weekly countdown show Hot 20.  This includes working with contacts in the music business to pitch and set up shoots with artists and working in house with the Hot 20 staff and other CMT departments on the logistics and editorial decisions of producing a weekly show.

While studying Broadcast Journalism in college Jennifer fell in love with country music. After graduation she pursued a career in TV news, working at KICU, KRON and KNTV in the San Francisco Bay Area. She worked her way up on the assignment desk from assignment editor to manager.   When an opportunity presented itself to work at WKRN in Nashville she jumped at the chance to work in the home of country music.

Once in Nashville, Jennifer eventually made the leap to cable television at production company Jim Owens and Associates.  Combining her love of country music and her experience in news, she was in heaven working on TNN Country News as well as This Week in Country Music and Today’s Country.

Fortunately just as TNN changed formats away from country music, CMT starting creating more original programming.  After a short stint at the Country Music Association, Jennifer started at CMT in 2001 working on among other shows, CMT Insider and now Hot 20.

In 2012 she was awarded the CMA Media Achievement Award and in 2001 she won a Prism award for her work on the CMT News special "Addicted to Addiction."
