Jody Fennell

Jody Fennell is Vice President, Business Development for The Weather Channel Interactive, Inc. She oversees all business development activities for the division’s web site, weather.com, the world’s leading weather web site; for Desktop Weather, the company’s downloadable desktop weather application; and for the company’s many mobile product offerings. She has overall responsibility for all business development for the interactive division of The Weather Channel, and her team is responsible for creating and maintaining all of the division’s non-advertising partnerships. Jody first joined The Weather Channel in 1990, working in Affiliate Relations to establish distribution partnerships with cable operators to build the cable network. She then served as Director, New Business Development, where she focused on product development for the telecommunications industry, particularly as it related to wireless strategies. Since then she has held numerous positions, including Executive Producer, where she set the editorial vision for weather.com, and General Manager for Broadband and Wireless product lines. Jody has worked with a number of other cable programming companies, including Request Television and Financial News Network. Jody earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from New York University. She has served as a Mentor in the Georgia 100 program, and has held a variety of posts with various industry trade organizations, including board positions with the New York Chapter of Women in Cable and Telecommunications (WICT) and with the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the Cable Television Administration and Marketing (CTAM) organization.
