Julia Gause serves as director of search marketing for Scripps Networks Interactive. In this role, she is the strategist and steward of Search Engine Optimization (SEO), focusing on Scripps’ Home category sites – HGTV.com, DIYNetwork.com, HGTVRemodels.com, HGTVGardens.com and FrontDoor.com. Julia’s management of the development and execution of the category’s SEO strategy includes the analyses of site content, site architecture and strategic plans. Together, these components allow for the sites to gain top exposure in major search engine results such as Google, Bing and Yahoo!.
Julia has a long history with Scripps Networks Interactive, beginning her career as an editorial assistant for HGTV.com more than a decade ago. Since then, she has shown versatility in positions covering most content development areas for the company’s digital properties.
As an active member of Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT), Julia serves as a mentor to University of Tennessee students. When she’s away from the office, Julia serves as a board member of a local theatre and volunteers for Humans and Animals Learning Together, a program that pairs at-risk teenagers with local shelter dogs to teach the dogs basic obedience and find them good homes.
Julia also enjoys running, live music, and traveling with her husband and dogs.
