As Senior Vice President of Corporate Development for Scripps Networks Interactive, Julie Too is responsible for identifying, evaluating and executing acquisitions, joint ventures, investments and partnerships that support the company’s growth objectives. Scripps Networks Interactive is a leader in developing lifestyle programming for television, the Internet and mobile platforms. The company owns and operates HGTV, Food Network, Travel Channel, DIY Network, Cooking Channel and Great American Country, as well as ancillary publishing and digital properties in the United States. The company’s international division distributes four international brands- Food Network Asian Food Channel, Travel Channel and Fine Living- across Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Asia-Pacific and Latin America, and has joint-venture relationships with both UKTV in the UK and Shaw Media in Canada.
Since joining Scripps Networks four years ago, Yoo helped direct the company’s 2013 acquisition of Asian Food Channel and 2012 acquisition of Travel Channel International. She also has played a key role in making venture investments in Tastemade, One Kings Lane and other digital partnerships in the United States and abroad.
Prior to Scripps Networks, Yoo was at NBCUniversal where she advised senior GE and NBCU executives on evaluating strategic priorities, acquisitions and divestitures. She assessed potential transformative transactions and also oversaw the merger of NBCU’s stake in A&E Networks with Lifetime. Before joining NBCU, Yoo served as an investment banker at Lehman Brothers, where she advised leading businesses in the media industry.
Yoo received both a master’s degree in business administration and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She resides in New York City with her husband and two daughters.
