Karen Grealy is a Senior Manager of Business Intelligence at Comcast Business, where she works for the OffNet Access Solutions business unit. Karen and her team are responsible for the development and maintenance of a multi-tiered database. The team gathers requirements from users, programs the back-end data integration packages, designs the front-end user experience, develops the automated reporting, and guides stakeholders through user acceptance testing (UAT). Additionally, Karen and her team work with internal stakeholders to align key performance metrics and share insights into how the business can improve operations, increase revenue, and reduce cost.
Almost 20 years ago, she started her career in business intelligence by working in a technical call center — Karen knew she had a knack for data when she could explain database querying to financial advisors over the phone. She started in telecommunications at Charter Communications (fka Time Warner Cable) 12 years ago as a Customer Support operations analyst. Over time, she began managing a team of analysts who created a suite of reporting and analysis tools.
Karen holds a Master of Science in Information Systems with an Emphasis in Software Development from the University of Colorado.
When she is not at work, Karen spends time with her husband and two daughters. She enjoys crafting, volunteering for the Girl Scouts, and figuring out how to raise the family’s new puppy.
