Karen McClendon

Karen McClendon is the Freedom Region’s Vice President of Human Resources. As such, she is responsible for overseeing all of the region’s critical HR functions, including talent acquisition and talent management, compensation, employee relations, employee engagement, employee communications and training.

 

Karen joined the Western New England Region of Comcast in 2013, bringing with her a wealth of valuable experience, some of which was gained during a 12-year stint with Comcast’s former Cellular Communications division in Philadelphia, where she was Human Resources Vice President from 1995-1998. She later held the same position with the Children’s Television Workshop in New York for two years and with Cherry Hill, NJ-based Zone Telecom for three years before spending seven years as HR Director for Exelon Corp., the nation’s leading competitive energy provider. From 2009-2013, Karen served as Human Resources Vice President for the Facility Services division of Aramark Corp. in Philadelphia. In that capacity, she was responsible for 12,000 employees in the United States, Canada and Mexico, and managed a team of seven HR directors.

 

A native of Virginia, Karen received her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Old Dominion University and later earned an MBA from Temple University.
