As Senior Vice President, Enterprise Applications, of Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., Karen Painter leads an applications development team, which supports The Entertainment Networks, (TBS, TNT, Cartoon Network, TCM, CNN News Networks, Turner’s Corporate Group, as well as, the Sports Division). The Enterprise Applications Department focuses on technology solutions that are primarily internal facing. These IT solutions are comprised of software development, project management, database administration, system architecture, software quality assurance, business analysis, research and development, and security administration. Ms. Painter has been with Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., since 1995. Karen has over 20 years of application development experience. In addition to her experience at Turner, she has worked on the vendor side of application development. Karen began her career as a developer for McDonald Douglas Aircraft Company writing assembly language for the F15E. Ms. Painter holds a BS Degree in Computer Science from Old Dominion University. When Karen is not working, she enjoys time with her family on their farm. She is obtaining her pilot’s license and is an avid reader.
