Karrie Smiddy is the Director of Scheduling and Production Management for Scripps Productions, the in-house production department for Scripps Networks Interactive. Scripps Networks is home to powerhouse television and digital brands, HGTV, DIY Network, Food Network, Cooking Channel, Travel Channel and Great American Country. Karrie worked her way up from her first job at Scripps as an intern and has since touched many departments as a sought-after partner in production administration. Over the course of thirteen years Karrie has been promoted 5 times which includes her recent promotion to Director of Scheduling and Production Management.
Karrie manages a scheduling team responsible for scheduling all internal post-production environments for Scripps Productions and facilitating internal billing for staff resources. Karrie also manages a production management team which oversees internal projects including production budgets, hiring crews and shepherding projects thru the production process. She is the department lead and liaison for third party payroll processes, including vendor management for freelance production resources. She also partners with internal departments to create, implement and improve best practices for the entire production team.
Karrie earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from the University of Tennessee. She resides in Knoxville, Tennessee with her two children.
