Kathryn (Kate) Cassidy is Senior Manager for Employee Communications in the National Customer Operations department at Comcast headquarters located in Philadelphia. In her current role, Kate is responsible for providing communications strategy, content and support for new product launches and customer service issues. She also writes and edits content for an extensive knowledge database containing thousands of articles that Comcast agents utilize when interacting with customers via phone, chat or social media.
Kate also facilitates communications project intake for business units across the company in order to determine how to best disseminate critical information to both Comcast agents and customers in a clear, service-focused voice with the overall goal to make customer experience Comcast’s best product. Some of this work includes crisis communications, where Kate is tasked with creating and implementing an emergency communications plan for outages, billing issues, severe weather and more.
Prior to joining Comcast in 2012, Kate graduated from Muhlenberg College with a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in Media & Communication and Political Science. She did some journalism work before becoming the communications coordinator for a lobbying group and eventually went on to receive a Master’s Degree in Communication at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Ultimately, Kate’s love for Philadelphia prompted a move to the city, where she transitioned to the corporate communications field and began working as a specialist at Comcast. Having recently purchased her first home in the suburbs, Kate enjoys hanging with her husband and their French bulldog, Nessie, in their new backyard.
