Katie Buchanan

Katie Ackerman Buchanan is Vice President, Programming and Acquisitions for The Style Network.  Katie is responsible for the programming and strategy for the linear network ,VOD and other new media platforms as well as manages the programming budget and oversees all acquisitions and co-productions for the network.  She has brokered several high-profile acquisition deals including “Supernanny”, “Extreme Makeover,” and “The Biggest Loser”. Katie also handles all the theatrical movie acquisitions and international productions for which US episodes are produced.  Currently, Katie is overseeing the UK produced 6-part documentary series, “Too Fat for 15” set to premiere in the fall.  Katie also focuses on growing magazine and strategic partnerships for Style which most recently includes projects with Martha Stewart Weddings, Glamour, and Lucky magazine.  Katie is currently coordinating production on a Martha Stewart Wedding special as part of the magazines 15th anniversary.

Prior to Style, Buchanan worked at VH1 in their original movies & specials division.  Katie received her MFA in Film from the California Institute of the Arts and began her career at MTV Networks in New York with VH1 in their programming group.

Katie is actively involved in several industry groups including serving as a Betsy Magness Leadership candidate with WICT, as well as the Southern California Board of WICT as their Director-at-Large.
