Kelley Drukker

Kelley Drukker has worked in a business affairs capacity in the entertainment business for twenty years. Drukker has been with A+E Television Networks since 2008, acting as the Vice President of Rights & Clearances and Standards & Practices. Specifically, she oversees twenty-two employees across four areas within the Legal & Business Affairs department: Rights & Clearances, Standards & Practices, Music Services, and Budget Management. Her teams serve all business units for A+E Networks’ brands including A&E®, Lifetime®, HISTORY®, LMN®, bio®, H2™, HISTORY en Espanol™, Crime & Investigation Network®, Military HISTORY®, LRW™, as well as A&E Indie Films®, A+E Networks International®, A+E Networks Digital®, and A+E Consumer Products®.

 

Drukker oversees the Rights & Clearances department, and is primarily responsible for the management of rights of over 40,000 program assets and advising A+E business units regarding program rights availability in order to monetize and exhibit content. Additionally, this department secures rights to third party materials and provides risk assessment on programming and marketing initiatives. She is also part of the strategic planning for Distribution’s new media licenses, and is instrumental to the continued acquisition and management of rights for TV Everywhere and OTT platforms. Under her direction, the Rights department has made major rights management system and technical advancements, serving every business unit in the company.

 

As the Standards & Practices department head, Drukker ensures that all A+E Networks’ content meets the standards of good taste and community acceptability. To accomplish this goal, each program is individually evaluated with theme, context, audience expectation, time of airing, TV rating, and other factors all taken into consideration. Drukker advises executives at the Networks on problematic issues such as nudity, sexual situations, language, violence, and subject matter. Drukker creates and enforces S&P policies and guidelines across all networks, websites, consumer products, marketing and promos, print, and advertising, both domestically and internationally.

 

Drukker helped spearhead the creation of the Music Services department, a revenue business. The department is mainly responsible for the collection of worldwide music performance revenue, providing music supervision and creative services, negotiation of music deals, and building a highly successful A+E Music Library business.

 

Prior to A+E Television Networks, Drukker spent eight years at Oxygen Media as Vice President, Business Affairs Administration. In this role, she oversaw Rights & Clearances, Standards & Practices, and Music Administration. Previously, she was with Pearson Publishing for two years as a Manager, Rights & Permissions for Music and Technology, and five years with MTV Networks in Rights & Clearances, where she was honored with the Chairman Award for Employee of the Year.

 

Drukker serves as a member of the TV Monitoring Board with other Standards & Practices executives from select broadcast and cable networks. Managed by the National Cable Television Association, the TV Monitoring Board is dedicated to ensuring the accuracy and consistency of the TV ratings guidelines, and to consider any public questions applied to a particular program.

 

Drukker has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware in Mass Communication and resides in Wyckoff, NJ.
