Kim Rowell

Kim Rowell is a 24-year veteran of the telecommunications and cable industry, holding management and senior leadership roles ranging from sales, product development and marketing—to customer and field operations.  In her current position, Kim serves as vice president of field operations for the Cox Communications Central Region, and is the only woman in this role throughout the company. She oversees customer and network installation and service teams spanning a five-state area; her division of more than 700 employees supports over 1.3M customers.

Prior to joining Cox, Kim worked for AT&T, Qwest, Touch America, Birch Telecom and Freightquote.com.  Throughout her career, her greatest organizational impact has come in the form of identifying areas of inefficiency—and retooling processes to improve performance, communication and fiscal responsibility. Kim is particularly talented at corporate strategy development and execution, and she is well recognized for her excellent team and consensus building skills. Some of her most valuable professional learning came as a result of working for a company which underwent bankruptcy, reorganization and sale. Through this experience, Kim honed her collaborative, servant-based leadership style; paired with a sense of humor and focus on the empowerment of others.

Kim earned a BS Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri, with a minor in Mathematics. She serves as the membership co-chair for the Heartland Chapter of WICT, and is a member of the Community Leadership Council for the Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Northwest Arkansas, working to identify scholarship recipients and provide professional career advice to program participants. Before relocating for her position with Cox, Kim worked closely with animal rescue and fostering programs, as well as volunteered for an animal shelter and spay/neuter clinic in Kansas City. Kim now lives in the Ozark college town of Fayetteville, Arkansas.  She has an adventurous spirit and loves to travel domestically and abroad with her husband, Bill.
