Kimberly Hulsey

Kimberly Hulsey is Vice President, Legal and Government Affairs for Scripps Networks, Interactive—home of the leading lifestyle and entertainment brands, HGTV, Food Network, Cooking Channel, DIY Network, Travel Channel and Great American Country.  In this role, Kimberly leads the government and industry advocacy initiatives that advance Scripps’ business objectives.  Kimberly also provides legal support to Scripps’ real estate, construction, bankruptcy, research and corporate social responsibility functions.    

 

Immediately before Scripps, Kimberly spent several years learning and growing with TV One.   She started as Vice President, Legal Affairs and, then advanced to the position of Senior Vice President, Legal Affairs and HR Strategy where, in addition to leading the HR Department, she was responsible for all legal matters associated with distribution of the TV One network.   Later, Ms. Hulsey transitioned to the role of Senior Vice President of Distribution and Strategy where she developed marketing and distribution strategies for the company’s relationships with Verizon, Mediacom, Insight, RCN, and Time Warner NYC.   

 

Prior to joining TV One, Ms. Hulsey was Associate General Counsel for Affiliate and Government Relations at BET, supporting carriage negotiations with cable and satellite companies and maintaining primary responsibility for regulatory issues affecting the company.  

 

Before BET, Ms. Hulsey was an associate with Fleischman & Walsh, LLP and, before that, was an Attorney-Advisor with the FCC’s Mass Media Bureau.  Ms. Hulsey’s first job out of law school was Law Clerk to Judge Michael Rankin of the D.C. Superior Court.    

 

A graduate of both University of Pennsylvania Law School and American University, Kimberly is also a proud member of the NAMIC ELDP Class XII/Darden I.  Additionally, Ms. Hulsey is a Member-at-Large on the WICT (Women in Cable Telecommunications) Washington-Baltimore Chapter Board, serves as the Legislative Chair of the Prince George’s County Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., and is a member of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of NAMIC (National Association of Minorities in Communications).  Outside of work, Ms. Hulsey enjoys traveling and fine dining.  After spending some time in Scripps’ headquarters location, Knoxville, TN, Kimberly now resides with her husband, Kenneth, and daughter, Katherine, in Bowie, MD.
