Kimberly Maki

In August 2009, Kimberly Maki joined Bright House Networks as Vice President, Corporate Communications. Maki is responsible for directing Bright House Networks’ strategic communications at all levels of the organization, and leading a team of dedicated communications professionals throughout the company’s six divisions.  Her responsibilities include developing and implementing internal and external communications for all of Bright House Networks’ products and services, including new product development; structuring corporate-wide strategy; growing community relations programs; and leading key marketing communications efforts.  Maki reports to Kevin Hyman, Executive Vice President of Cable Operations for Bright House Networks.

Maki has more than twenty years of communications and marketing experience, and, prior to joining Bright House Networks, served as Executive Director of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE).  At SMPTE, Maki increased membership and corporate support of the Society, as well as improved the acclaimed Motion Imaging Journal and introduced multiple new product lines of member benefits.  In addition, she was instrumental in garnering global recognition for SMPTE Standards and the motion imaging technology profession.  In her role at SMPTE, Ms. Maki also served on the Partnership Board and as Chair of Strategy for the IBC International Trade Show in Amsterdam, Netherlands. 

Previously, she held the position of Vice President, Marketing, Membership and Business Development for the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers. Earlier years were spent in senior public affairs positions with Time Warner Cable’s Houston Division; Vision Cable Communications’ corporate office and the Michigan Cable Television Association.

Maki is a native of Michigan and graduated from Northern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in public policy/administration.  In addition, she completed Harvard University’s Graduate Institute on Media Education.  She has won numerous industry awards throughout her career and received NMU’s Outstanding Young Alumni Award in 1994.
