Kristen Shaver

​​Having recently celebrated her 10year anniversary at ESPN this past December, Kristen Shaver was named senior manager of events in March of 2014. She helps oversee and manage ESPN’s owned-and-operated events business, which currently includes three Labor Day weekend college football games, eight basketball events and 11 bowl games. 

 

Holding several positions at ESPN, Shaver began her career at Octagon, Inc. in 2003 and joined ESPN’s programming and acquisitions department at the end of 2004 as a programming coordinator.  She was promoted to a program planner and associate manager before relocating to the ESPN’s Charlotte office as an associate manager of events in August of 2009. Shaver was promoted to a manager in 2012 and senior manager in 2014 with the responsibility of managing the day to day events operation and staff.

 

Shaver graduated with honors from the University of South Carolina in 2003. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in sport and entertainment management with a minor in business. Shaver was a scholarship athlete and captain of the swimming and diving program. She was a four-year letter winner and a multiple Southeastern Conference Championship finalist. This past November she competed in her first marathon in New York City and qualified for the Boston Marathon in 2016.  

 

Shaver, formerly Butler, is a native of Mechanicsburg, Pa., and currently resides in Charlotte with her husband Brandon and two little girls, McGlynn and Reed.
