Kristie Chong Adler

Kristie Chong Adler is a media communications professional with more than eight years of experience in public relations, issue management, consumer publicity, business and corporate communications across digital media, technology, sports, entertainment and lifestyle brands within the cable industry.  In her current role as Manager of Communications for ESPN, her responsibilities include generating consumer press, publicizing industry announcements and strategizing corporate communications for the Digital & Print Media and Affiliate Sales & Marketing groups.  She oversees multiple announcements simultaneously involving a variety of professional sports leagues, conferences, sponsors, content providers and developers for ESPN’s digital properties including ESPN.com, WatchESPN, ESPN mobile Web and apps, ESPN Insider, digital audio, games, fantasy and social media.  Additionally, Kristie is responsible for effectively communicating ESPN’s distribution agreements with MVPDs, satellite, telco and emerging platforms, their impact on the media industry and the value of Disney & ESPN Media Networks video content to affiliates and consumers.

 

Prior to joining ESPN, Kristie served as Publicist for NBCUniversal, where she contributed to planning and executing press announcements for the Digital Media team including the acquisition of iVillage, the joint venture with News Corporation now known as Hulu, and new business units such as the NBC Digital Health Network and Peacock Equity Fund.  Additionally, she was responsible for generating consumer press for iVillage’s editorial and product teams.

 

Kristie began her professional career at MTV Networks, where she was one of fifteen Summer Associates chosen out of 300 applicants to participate in an intensive two-month entry level program.  As a Summer Associate, she led a team of five to plan and execute a grassroots marketing and communications campaign for MTV World.  As a student, Kristie assumed numerous leadership roles including president of Alpha Kappa Psi, a professional co-ed business fraternity, and as a resident assistant.  During that time, she also interned at Arnold Worldwide and MTV Networks.

 

She is an active member of the WICT New York chapter and the Association of Cable Communicators, participating in the ACC Cable Communications Institute, Class of 2011 and FORUM 2013, ACC’s annual conference.  She also currently serves as Communications Chair for ESPN’s largest employee resource group, ESPN Women.

 

Kristie graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing.  She resides in New York with her husband.
