Krystle Champagne

Krystle Champagne is a Programming Manager at the Travel Channel, and is responsible for liaising between Travel Channel’s programming team and company-wide departments at Scripps Networks Interactive.  Working closely with executive producers on key prime-time series, she also produces web-exclusive video content and social-media-integrated episodes for the network’s flagship series.  Her contributions to other Travel Channel departments include reviewing Ad Sales and Consumer Marketing requests and writing series and episode descriptions for the Communications team.

Prior to being promoted to Programming Manager, Champagne served as a Production Coordinator for the network.  Before joining Travel Channel, she was the Director of Scheduling to Washington, D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty.  In this role, she coordinated the Mayor’s interactions with government officials and high-profile VIP’s, and commissioned appropriate government officials to attend city events in lieu of the Mayor’s absence.  Prior to this, she worked as a freelance Production Assistant for PBS, MTV and The Disney Channel.

Champagne graduated from Howard University with a Bachelor of Arts in radio, television and film.  While attending Howard, she interned for DIY and CNN.  She also served as a Production and Guest Assistant at C-Span.

Champagne lives in Washington, D.C.  She is an active member of the Federal City Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.  During her off-work hours, she volunteers with the sorority at Food and Friends, a D.C.-area home-meal and grocery delivery service for people living with life-challenging illnesses.  In 2011, she joined the Employee Action Committee at Travel Channel.  Through the EAC, she has coordinated a Healthapalooza Fair & Biometric Screenings for all Travel Channel employees, chaired a Thanksgiving food drive for a local D.C. food bank, and co-chaired a summer party for the network.  Additionally, she participates annually in Scripps’ Change the World volunteer day.  Often referred to as "the bold one," Champagne lives everyday by the mantra – what would you do if you weren’t afraid?
