Laura Kane currently serves as Vice President + Creative Director for Paramount Network and TV Land (Viacom). Kane leads the on-air marketing promotion strategy and creative execution of scripted programming across linear and digital platforms. She is responsible for the brand look, feel, and voice of original programming on the networks, including all extensions of promotion – on-air, off-air, digital, social, and print. She guides an internal creative team that influences all content, creative design, copy, social media, influencer engagement, brand, video, photography, as well as managing external partners and agencies. Current series include “Younger” and the anticipated Darren Star dramedy “Emily in Paris”, as well as some unscripted fare – “Battle of the Fittest Couples.” Kane previously served as Executive Producer for TV Land where she developed, wrote, produced and directed on-air promotion, branded content and marketing materials for series including “Younger,” “The Jim Gaffigan Show,” “Lopez,” “Hot In Cleveland,” and “American Woman”. Notably, she was the key creative lead for all six season-launches of the hit show “Younger,” garnering critical acclaim and ratings growth, with the recent launch of Season 6 being the highest rated premiere for the series to date.
Laura is an established leader with over 21 years of experience, starting her career as an intern for MTV News in ’97 and remaining with Viacom ever since. She became a Production Assistant for MTV News, worked with Nickelodeon’s Casting and Talent Development, and then moved over to the Nickelodeon Brand Creative Group where she expanded her role to include Nick@Nite and TV Land.
Laura is a graduate of Rutgers University where she studied Communications, Sociology, and Italian. She spent a summer semester at the University of Urbino, Italy. Laura currently resides in Metuchen, NJ with her husband and 3 sons – Jack, Brendan, and Wyatt. She enjoys live music, running, sleeping, and planning a good trip.
