Lauren Dwyer

Lauren Dwyer serves as Director of Programs and Events for the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA) in Washington, DC.  She joined NCTA in July 2007 as its Program and Events Coordinator.  In her role, she has oversight of various educational programs at NCTA’s annual tradeshow, INTX: The Internet & Television Expo.  She works closely with NCTA’s Senior Vice President of Industry Affairs and the INTX Advisory Board to develop educational content and identify session speakers for the show.  She oversees the coordination of session requirements and all speaker preparation prior to the show.  During the show, she is responsible for on-site management of all educational sessions and managing vendor relationships.  In 2014, she was intrinsically involved in the rebrand of the NCTA tradeshow from The Cable Show to INTX: The Internet & Television Expo.

 

In addition to her INTX duties, Lauren is responsible for planning and executing logistics for NCTA’s Board of Directors meetings and events.  Additionally, she coordinates events at the industry’s annual Diversity Week in New York City, to include managing all of NCTA’s programs and meetings, providing coordination with industry partner associations, and production of the Walter Kaitz Foundation’s Annual Fundraising Dinner.

                                              

Prior to NCTA, Lauren worked as a Marketing Associate at the Corporate Executive Board (CEB) where she assisted several Marketing Directors with administrative support and outreach to potential new members in the Information Technology practice. 

 

After completing her undergraduate studies in 2006, Lauren joined Lockeed Martin as a Financial Analyst supporting the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) team in the International Programs office of the U.S. Marine Corps.  She began this role after working as a student hire in the International Programs office during school breaks from 2004 to 2006.  In the spring of 2006, she was given the opportunity to travel to Taiwan to participate in and provide administrative support for the Program Management Review Meeting for an FMS case with the Taiwan Marine Corps.

 

Lauren earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from The Pennsylvania State University, majoring in Advertising/Public Relations with minors in International Studies and Business.  During her junior year, she spent a semester abroad at the University of Westminster in London, England.  She is also an alumna of Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority. 

 

In her free time, Lauren enjoys running and competing in distance races.  She has completed a number of half-marathons and three full marathons.  She enjoys great food, really great wine, and craft beer, spending time at the beach and catching up on her favorite TV shows.  Lauren splits her time between Washington, DC and Wilmington, NC, where she resides with her husband, Eric.
